Privacy Policy
Focalslate is built so that we never see your data. This page explains exactly what is collected, by whom, and why.
Who we are
Focalslate is operated by Cary Miller, doing business as MillersCraft (“we”, “us”). Contact: support@focalslate.com.
Your planning data
- Your tasks, notes, journal and settings are stored in a file,
focus-data.json, in a folder you choose, or in your browser’s own storage on your device if you pick that option. - That data is never sent to us. We have no server that stores it and no way to read, recover or delete it.
- If you keep the file in a cloud folder (for example OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud Drive or Dropbox), that provider’s own privacy policy applies to it.
- The app also keeps a few settings on your device (in IndexedDB and local storage) so it can find your file and remember preferences. They stay on your device.
No accounts, analytics, ads or cookies
There is no sign-up. The site and the app contain no analytics, advertising, social-media or tracking scripts, and set no cookies. Our Content Security Policy only allows code served from focalslate.com itself.
Premium license checks
When you enter a Premium license key, the app sends that key and the product ID directly to Gumroad’s license API (api.gumroad.com) to confirm it is valid. Nothing else is sent. This is the only network request the app makes on its own.
Purchases
Premium is sold through Gumroad, which processes your payment. We never see your card details. As the seller, we receive the order details Gumroad shares with sellers, such as your name, email address and purchase record. We use them only to deliver your license, answer support questions and handle refunds. See Gumroad’s privacy policy.
Hosting
focalslate.com is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify or profile visitors. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
If you email support@focalslate.com, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply. We keep support email for as long as it is useful to help you, and delete it on request.
Your choices
- Delete your planning data at any time by deleting your file, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
- Ask us to delete your support emails or the order details we hold by writing to support@focalslate.com. Payment records Gumroad must keep are governed by Gumroad.
Children
Focalslate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
